But before you lay down the coins, make sure the vehicle is properly registered.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some things you need to know:<\/p>\n<p>For new vehicles, the owner or applicant must be at least 17-years-old.<\/p>\n<p>The agent must present the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Pro Forma Invoice (issued by the Motor Car firm)<\/li>\n<li>Completed Motor Vehicle Tax Form (issued by the motor car firm)<\/li>\n<li>Completed Registration <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mowt.gov.tt\/MOWT\/media\/General\/Documents\/New%20Transport%20Division%20Forms%20-%20September%2016th%202020\/Notification-of-Change-to-Motor-Vehicle.pdf\">Form No. 6<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Certificate of Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Payment of weighbridge fee:\n<ul>\n<li>Vehicle is weighed and inspected<\/li>\n<li>Registration is approved once it complies with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ttparliament.org\/legislations\/a2017-09.pdf\">Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act Chapter 48:50<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ttparliament.org\/legislations\/b2013h13g.pdf\">Motor Vehicle Insurance Third Party Risk Chapter 48:51<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A registration number will be issued once the Motor Vehicle Tax and associated fees are paid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Associated fees:\n<ul>\n<li>Registration Fee -$100.00<\/li>\n<li>Motor Vehicle Tax is calculated &#8211; To be paid before registration<\/li>\n<li>Weighbridge Fee- $20.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The applicant must produce the following documents to register foreign used vehicles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Customs and Excise Division (CED) Official Receipt<\/li>\n<li>C82 Form<\/li>\n<li>Assessment Notice<\/li>\n<li>Record of Payment of Motor Vehicle Tax<\/li>\n<li>Bill of Lading (BL)<\/li>\n<li>Commercial Invoice<\/li>\n<li>CARICOM Invoice<\/li>\n<li>Cancellation Certificate<\/li>\n<li>English Translation<\/li>\n<li>Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards Inspection Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Ministry of Trade and Industry Trade Import Licence<\/li>\n<li>Completed Registration Form<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s Permit<\/li>\n<li>Identification Card or Passport (Accompanied by Utility bill as Proof of Address)<\/li>\n<li>Valid Vehicle Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Fee- $120.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Planning to buy a car is a big step.
