{"id":88,"date":"2020-06-20T16:43:08","date_gmt":"2020-06-20T16:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/3.16.186.96\/tt\/?page_id=88"},"modified":"2026-04-01T09:32:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T13:32:03","slug":"things-to-know","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/genac.com\/tt\/claims\/things-to-know\/","title":{"rendered":"Things to know in the event of an accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"pageTitle\">WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT<\/h2>\n<p><b>WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We all hope for the best on the road, but sometimes things just happen.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever get involved in a motor vehicle accident, these are the steps that you should follow to allow us to process your claim as quickly and smoothly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>This document will guide you through those steps to be taken immediately upon an accident occurring.<\/p>\n<p>We advise you to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact our <strong>Emergency Roadside Assistance Toll Free at 800-4826<\/strong>\u00a0for assistance in towing disabled vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Take pictures at the scene of the incident.<\/li>\n<li>Obtain Names and contact information of all persons involved in the accident including those suffering injuries<\/li>\n<li>Names and contact information of all independent witnesses to the accident, including passengers in the vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Write down what happened as soon as possible \u2013 it is easy to forget details after some time has passed.<\/li>\n<li>Report the incident, within twenty-four (24) hours, to the Police Station nearest to the site of the collision. Take your Driver\u2019s Permit and all the vehicle documents with you when making the report.<\/li>\n<li>You are required to report the incident to us within two (2) days, no matter how minor.<\/li>\n<li>For faster processing times, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/mytt.genac.com\/claims\/incident\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report a Claim<\/a> online.<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively you can email us at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:claimsreportstt@genac.com\">claimsreportstt@genac.com<\/a>.\u00a0This is very<br \/>\nimportant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT HAPPENS NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For comprehensive policies, upon receipt of the estimate and necessary documentation, we will appoint an Adjuster to inspect your vehicle within twenty-four (24) hours. They will provide us with a report within three (3) to five (5) working days. You will be notified when the report is received.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Adjuster may be an independent professional not affiliated with General Accident.\u00a0 Their report will quantify the estimate provided by your repairer and provide us a guide as to how your vehicle should be repaired or if it should be treated as a Total Loss (Uneconomical to repair).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within three (3) days of receiving the Adjuster\u2019s report, we will then communicate to you how we intend to settle your claim.
