Enhancing Staff Well-being: A Key Focus for General Accident
Prezzi Fitness Leads Transformative HIIT Session with GenAc Employees
Kingston, Jamaica: Focused on the welfare of its staff, General Accident Insurance Company (GenAc) hosted its second instalment of several initiatives aimed at empowering healthy behaviour among staff members.
On July 19, 2024, GenAc hosted a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session for its employees. Held in the GenAc Training Room at the company’s Half Way Tree Road head office, employees had the unique opportunity to train and learn targeted exercises under the expert guidance of personal trainer, Carlington Sinclair aka Prezzi Fitness.
The HIIT session underscored General Accident’s dedication to fostering a culture of well-being and encouraging a healthy lifestyle among its staff. GenAc is proud to lead by example in promoting employee wellness and is committed to creating a supportive and health-conscious workplace. The event was just one of the many ways the company is working to ensure that its staff feels valued, energised, and empowered.
In addition to championing a healthy lifestyle, Sinclair boasts a degree in Sports and Science, and six years of experience in the local fitness industry. No stranger to group training however Sinclair has worked with many corporate and private entities alike including Nestle, Flow, Bam Moms Club and Jamaica Police Co-operative Credit Union Limited.
In designing the session Sinclair expressed taking special care to cater to all fitness levels, ensuring that everyone from beginners to fitness enthusiasts could participate and benefit. Adding to the value of the training session for GenAc employees Sinclair was accompanied by Dr. Kimone Young, a Medical Doctor with a passion for public health and who is also a fitness enthusiast and active dancer. She also provided the participants with dietary advice which would further impact them beyond the session.
“High Interval Intensity workout involves short bursts of intense aerobic exercise that lets you workout at your maximal level with short rest periods. It attracts different forms of routine and movements that will keep the body burning even when finished,” explained Sinclair. By providing these resources, the general insurance giant supports the physical and mental well-being of its employees, ultimately enhancing their performance and job satisfaction.
“They had a fun-filled training session with insight of our business and what we offer or do outside of just having a training session. Information was also shared on health and wellness and workplace ergonomics and how to keep consistent in their fitness journey. The participants worked up quite a sweat and enjoyed each moment of the session,” expressed Sinclair.
Following the session, participants had a chance to ask their questions about fitness, nutrition, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
