General Accident Insurance Company is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers home games in Jamaica, hosted by the Jamaica Basketball Association (JaBA).

As part of this sponsorship, General Accident will provide Public Liability Insurance coverage for the event, ensuring protection for participants, officials, and spectators throughout the games. In addition, the Company will contribute JMD $500,000 in sponsorship funding to support the staging of these international basketball fixtures.

The sponsorship covers Jamaica's FIBA‑sanctioned home games scheduled for February 26 and March 1, 2026, which form part of the country's pathway toward qualification for the FIBA Basketball World Cup and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Under the agreement, General Accident will receive official sponsor recognition during the event period, including press mentions and approved on‑site branding, subject to FIBA regulations and venue guidelines.

This partnership reflects General Accident's ongoing commitment to supporting sport, national development, and community engagement across the region, while playing an active role in enabling safe and well‑managed sporting events.
